Tim Burton has re-imagined the story of DUMBO with this spectacular and moving version with a stellar cast that includes Irish actor Colin Farrell.

Hilarious new comic-book adventure SHAZAM! is about a teenage boy that can transform into an adult superhero and is being billed as a cross between KICK-ASS and BIG.

HELLBOY gets a re-boot that takes the character in a darker direction and stars Irish actor Brian Gleeson as the wizard Merlin.

AVENGERS: ENDGAME is the culmination of 22 interconnected films and brings the AVENGERS franchise to a close. The three previous films are the top three highest-grossing superhero movies ever made and this final chapter should join them at the top of this list.

MAY

DETECTIVE PIKACHU is based on the popular Nintendo game and app Pokémon Go which was downloaded over 500 million times worldwide in 2016 alone.

Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway play rival con-artists in THE HUSTLE which is a re-make of the ‘80s comedy classic DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS.

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2 is the latest film from Illumination Entertainment, the team behind the DESPICABLE ME and MINIONS franchises, SING and THE GRINCH. All of their films have gone straight into the ROI Box Office Top Ten and this one will be massive too.

Disney’s new live-action version of ALADDIN features the original music as well as new songs written by the team behind THE GREATEST SHOWMAN.

Elton John biopic ROCKETMAN uses his music and songs to evoke the incredible journey from shy songwriter to superstar.

GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS is an epic adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most iconic monsters in pop culture history.

JUNE

Unemployed journalist FLARSKY decides to pursue his childhood crush and babysitter who now happens to be one of the most powerful and unattainable women on the planet.

X - MEN: DARK PHOENIX is set in the 1990s, almost ten years after the events of X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and features Jessica Chastain in her first ever superhero role.

MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL is a re-boot of the popular franchise with an all new cast that features Irish actor Liam Neeson.

TOY STORY 4 follows on from TOY STORY 3 which is No. 8 on the list of top ten highest-grossing movies of all-time here in ROI.

JULY

Little is known about the UNTITLED DANNY BOYLE / RICHARD CURTIS COMEDY apart from it being a Beatle-mania era musical comedy starring Lily James and Ed Sheerin, from the director of SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE and the writer of LOVE ACTUALLY, which is enough to guarantee it will be a hit.

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME is the continuing adventures of one of the most popular superheroes in the Marvel Universe.

The original animated THE LION KING is the top-earning title in box-office history for both stage productions and films. This new live-action version is expected to be absolutely massive and smash even more records. Make sure your brand is seen with what could be the No. 1 film of 2019.

Quentin Tarantino explores the 1969 Manson murders in ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD. The amazing cast includes Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell, Lena Dunham, Damian Lewis and Luke Perry.

AUGUST

Best-selling Irish author Eoin Colfer’s most popular character, young Irish criminal mastermind ARTEMIS FOWL, is brought to life in Disney’s big-screen adaptation.

Lino DiSalvo, who was Head of Animation on FROZEN, has created PLAYMOBIL as a homage to one of his favourite childhood toys and it looks like great fun.


SEPTEMBER

THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW is a tense thriller reminiscent of Hitchcock. Amy Adams plays a woman who witnesses something terrible while spying on her neighbours.

IT: CHAPTER 2 is the sequel to IT which was No.7 in the 2017 ROI top ten films of the year and was the first horror film to make it into the ROI top ten in almost twenty years.

One of the biggest attractions of 2019 will be DOWNTON ABBEY which combines one of the most popular TV shows ever created with one of our favourite leisure activities – cinema!

OCTOBER

Joaquin Phoenix plays the JOKER in the origins film of one of the most popular comic-book villains ever created.

THE ADDAMS FAMILY is an animated re-boot which closely adheres to the concept and artwork of the original cartoons about the unconventional family and looks fantastic.

Director Elizabeth Banks revives CHARLIE'S ANGELS in this new version in which she also stars alongside Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, Djimon Hounsou, and Patrick Stewart.

NOVEMBER

UNTITLED TERMINATOR PROJECT will be a direct sequel to 1991’s TERMINATOR 2 and will involve James Cameron in the franchise for the first time since that film.

From the director of BRIDESMAIDS and the writer of BRIDGET JONES’S BABY comes LAST CHRISTMAS . This is a musical based on the songs of George Michael and features new, previously unreleased, material as well as his classics.

Prepare for Frozen fever to return as FROZEN 2, the sequel to one of the biggest animated films ever made, arrives just in time to entice Christmas shoppers. Make sure your brands are seen with this!

DECEMBER

As the JUMANJI SEQUEL reunites the main cast with the directors and writers of the previous film, it looks like all the ingredients are there to guarantee another hit.

STAR WARS: EPISODE IX is the conclusion of the new trilogy that began with STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, the third highest-grossing film of all time in ROI, which took almost €7million here in 2015.

Finally, iconic musical CATS, starring Idris Elba, Ian McKellan, Judi Dench, Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson and Taylor Swift, ends the year on a festive, feline note.
